She has experience in care homes, hospitals, and the community, most recently volunteering in COVID wards during lockdown. She is nationally recognised for expertise in dementia care. Former director of the Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling. She has been recognised by Fellowship of the Royal College of Nursing, the highest honour awarded to nurses in the UK who have made an exceptional contribution to health care. Professor Andrews supports other health and social care teams as a coach and mentor, and has led successful teams for three decades. Her latest book Carers and Caring: The One Stop Guide has been described as 'The vital guide to old-age care NO family can afford to ignore' Mail on Sunday.
