News from Cityparents HQ - Jan 2019

We have events, news and networking galore to help brighten the first quarter of this year! Scroll down to read about Influencers, the Accelerator Conference, Cityparents Webinars and a new Cityworks Practioner Pass.

Celebrating the launch of the Influencers network

Our new Influencers network launched successfully on 21st November with a powerful discussion about influencing change. The full-capacity event was attended by 80 City professionals who are passionate about encouraging cultural change in the workplace and want to play a proactive role in encouraging progress. Helen Beedham and Alison Deane explained the origin of the network, its purpose and plan for 2019, and were joined by Alexandra Marks - the founding “Changemaker” supporting Working Families -  who shared her philanthropic journey and experience of supporting a broader social purpose. We took a huge amount of feedback away with us which will now be reflected in the pipeline of Influencer events going forward.

Our first Influencer event for 2019 takes place on Wednesday 13th February– a Creating Change roundtable discussion – where we’ll hear case studies from Influencer members at Irwin Mitchell and KPMG covering recent significant change programmes they have been involved in. To find out more about this event and to book your place, click here.  This event is open to Influencer members only, so click here to sign-up first.

Upcoming Influencer events for H1 2019 will focus on Flexible Working Career Progression and Building Your Change Skills.  Further details of these events will be shared in our weekly Roundup as they become available for booking. It’s not too late to join the Influencers network – follow this link if you would like to be involved.

New Cityworks ‘Practitioner Pass’

We’re excited to announce that a new, individual annual membership of Cityworks is now available, in addition to our two existing corporate membership options.  Our Cityworks network is for HR, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing professionals in City organisations who network and exchange current practices across a range of workplace policies.

The new ‘Practitioner Pass’ is for HR, D&I or Wellbeing professionals whose employer does not yet hold corporate membership.  It offers unlimited booking into Cityworks events plus access to the Cityworks policy benchmarking database, City-wide research downloads and (coming soon) new best practice guides.

Further details are available here, or you can contact Helen for more information. To find out more about the policies and topics covered at Cityworks, take a look at the events schedule for the first half of 2019.

In the pipeline …. Cityparents Webinars

We listen carefully to feedback from our individual and corporate members and we know that many of you are keen to see some webinars included in our events schedule.  We appreciate it isn’t always easy to get away from the office to attend our networking events in person.  We are pleased to let you know we are preparing to launch a new stream of webinars and hope to be able to share more news about this over the coming weeks.

Pick of the blogs

Our fantastic bloggers have been sharing their experiences of work and home life in the run up to Christmas and since the start of the New Year. Our weekly blogs are published online and are featured in our weekly ‘RoundUp’ email that we send out on Tuesdays.  In case you missed any, here are our top 3 picks of recent blogs that struck a chord with many members:
