Thank you to all of you who took time to respond to our Annual Survey, your answers have provided valuable insights into your experience of managing your professional careers alongside your home life during this Covid-19 pandemic.
The findings reveal the intense pressure faced by working parents, particularly when childcare and schooling is disrupted and disappointingly many report that their career prospects are deteriorating when compared with before the pandemic. Hearteningly though, the pandemic has shone a spotlight on the pressure faced by working parents in corporate roles and businesses are showing their support.
Clearly, the survey has also enabled us to consider the successes and shortcomings of remote working. Home working is already offering many benefits with the vast majority of respondents not wanting to return to their pre-pandemic working pattern and many city businesses already adjusting their flexible working policies for the long term.
