Your Next Chapter: Planning for A Meaningful Later Life

Explore what a longer, more meaningful later life could look like.

For many people, retirement has long been presented as the reward after decades of work – a time of rest, leisure and freedom. Yet as people live longer, healthier lives, that traditional story often feels incomplete.

In this Talk, psychologist and author Dr Denise Taylor explores how our understanding of later life is changing. Drawing on her research and her book ThriveSpan: Walking Gently Into What Matters Now, she looks at the psychological and social shifts that can occur as work becomes less central, and how people can approach this stage of life with greater clarity and intention. Rather than focusing solely on financial planning or staying busy, this talk invites participants to think more deeply about purpose, wellbeing and what a meaningful later life might look like.
