About Selina Clarke:
Selina Clarke has enjoyed a career of over 15 years in the mental health sector providing patient/service user support, advocacy and training that has spanned the NHS, voluntary and higher education sectors.
Working to improve mental health literacy and acceptance while promoting positive conversations around mental health has been a key driver throughout her career.
In addition, Selina has provided consultancy services on organisational mental health and wellbeing policies for FTSE 100 companies based in the UK, has featured in mental health promotion videos for HSBC Global and has been a guest speaker on wellbeing podcasts. Selina is well versed in issues relating to risks to welfare and wellbeing and has an excellent understanding of the environments and circumstances that contribute to poor mental health and how to build a culture that supports employees to thrive.
As a mental health trainer, Selina speaks on a range of topics related to wellbeing, and enjoys igniting conversations around wellbeing, mental health and race. She uses her own experiences as a professional working in the mental health space, and as a black woman with lived experience of poor mental health to support this. In addition to her role as an Associate Mental Health First Aid Instructor for MHFA England, she is also a qualified sports rehabilitation therapist and trauma-informed massage and stretch therapist and uses bodywork to support people to become more aware of and understand the connection between how they think and feel mentally to how they feel physically.
